RAW DENIM, BEER, BOOTS, BIKES, GIN, TALKIN’, MEETING FRIENDS @ 5TH MAENNERABEND AT BREMERCIH JEANS, ILLINGEN, GER

as last year it was again a fantastic event in the out of nowhere in SAARLAND, germany, near the previous french border. great, what the BREMERICH FAMILY particularly OLI BREMERICH and his team from the shop arrange and organize for MAENNERABEND every year. the guys in and around this small town ILLINGEN can be lucky! also, here out in the country the people are so cool, so kind and so honest – a great atmosphere! when i sometimes join events in big towns the folks are often so bigheaded and such a kind of fake. so what, this was a wonderful night, which was much too short … time was running so fast. a big thank you again to KATJA & OLI BREMERICH for best hospitably. for me it is something like coming home when visiting OLI & KATJA. i did a lot of pics so i will post a second part later. pics // LTG

5TH MAENNERABEND @ BREMERICH JEANS, ILLINGEN, GERMANY

today i got a parcel from OLI BREMERICH owner of BREMERICH JEANS, ILLINGEN, GERMANY. wonderful, because it’s “MAENNERABEND” time again and OLI wants me to get stimulated for tomorrow evening. so he send me 2 bottles of FERDINANDS DRY GIN and the official invitation, i made for him. great idea. while writing this post i try the SAAR QUINCE GIN i did not know before – just on the rocks, without tonic or water. sounds great for me as a RIESLING lover, because this “SLOE GIN” is “riesling wine infused”. f***, what a great taste. this golden stuff is at the same time so smooth and tasty. and FERDINAND’S  DRY GIN – one of my absolute GIN favorites –, which is made of 30 fine botanicals from the local vineyards is so perfect done too. okay, enough compliments: take your own bottle of FERDINANDS and enjoy it – for more information and shopping, check www.saar-gin.de. you may ask why OLI send this stuff to me? not just to prepare for tomorrow eveining, but the owner of FERDINAND’S will do a gin tasting at  “MAENNERABEND”. furthermore UWE E. MAIER c/o AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION, ROB and KEITH from EAT DUST will join the event and show some stuff of their actual and upcoming collections. beside OLI will show the folks some new stuff from FILSON, RED WING SHOES and various JAPANESE DENIMs. great, i am happy to join an evening with friends tomorrow … photos // LTG

RED WING SHOES | REISSUED STYLE #8180 EXCLUSIVELY AVAILABLE @ RED WING STORES AROUND THE WORLD

at first, i always loved the green RWS boots color and i owned an original from the sixties: an 888 IRISH SETTER made of this smooth and rare green kangaroo leather. yesterday i went to frankfurt with the family to visit KAMI, owner of RED WING STORE FRANKFURT. we talked a lot and when we said good bye he showed me this damn f***ing nice green boots: the new, reissued #8180. he told me that the boot will be officially presented this monday  by RED WING SHOES. so, it was great and a pleasure for me to do a post before the presentation ;-))

Here is the history about the #8180: “in 1963, RWS developed a premium sport boot using australian kangaroo leather. identified by its unique green color, the boot was developed exclusively for SEARS and carried the TED WILLIAM label. WILLIAMS is considered one of the greatest hitters in the history of baseball and was also an avid outdoorsman sho became an american icon. his name became a brand that labeled only the most premium sports and outdoor gear sold at SEARS.” (words by RWS)

so the #8180 is made of unique green KANTAGAN PORTAGE LEATHER, the same leather used to build each of these traditional, hand-stitched baseballs … and sorry, you will not get the ball with you when you buy an #8180 … and this style is exclusively available at RED WING STORES around the world. really nice and so unique. hm, i love the color … and, i did NOT buy these boots yet. pics | LTG

RED WING SHOES | JAPAN LIMITED CANOE MOC WORK BOOT #9850 / #9851

what a found … did you hear about this japan limited RWS 6 inch boot? sorry, me not. you like? i do not know – but i think, i like the hybrid between the classic RWS moc toe and a canoe or boat shoe. the boots are available in the wonderful GOLD RUSSET SEQUOIA and ORO RUSSET. they show the classic 50s IRISH SETTER label and come in the retro box from this time. pics | THREEWOOD + FOOT TIME

RED WING SHOES AT WORK | OXFORD RWS #8103 IN THE FIELD

yesterday i went to france to a small village named SCHEIBENHARD in the ALSAC region, just 5 miles behind the former german border line. i did art direction for one of my clients while having a photo shoot in the field with a lot of agriculture crafts to show the great range of tires and the use of these. damn, it was so hot and sticky. so it was a good decision to choose the RWS oxfords because of the traction, the comfort and the easy clean behind. sorry for these bad iphone pics from the shooting itself. but isn’t the FORD TRACTOR barn found not nice. it was built 1970 and got a new turbo machine last week. the sound is incredible. pics | LTG

PHOTOGRAPHER JOERN POLLEX FOR AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION | HAMBURG HARBOR SHOOTING PART I

HAMBURG based photographer JOERN POLLEX send me some really great pics from a shooting he did for UWE E. MAIER c/o AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION four weeks ago. i got so many beautiful pics that i decided to show you tomorrow some more and a making of video. some facts about JOERN: he learnt photographing at the age of 12 from his father. starting 30 years ago with that famous analog camera CANON A1 – i have had the same – he developped the photos in his own darkroom. JOERN did an education as a photographer and worked for GETTY IMAGES. since january 2014 he works as a freelancer. the AMTRAQ shooting was completely done by JOERN from the location search, model casting to picture editing and post production. LTG BOOT & SHOE COLLECTION | 26 | VIBERG SERVICE BOOT 1950 WITH VIBRAM 4014 WHITE CRISTY SOLE

2 months ago i did a post about my VIBERG SERVICE BOOT 1950 in black with a DAINITE SOLE. todays #26 boot of my collection is the same boot just brown colored with another sole, the WHITE CRISTY VIBRAM 4014. as the pics show, i did not wear this boot so often. i prefer the black SERVICE BOOT with its DAINITE SOLE much more. i think this sole fits the look of the boot much better. the #4014 is comfortable but it looks like a contemporary compromise to me. when i wear this boot sometimes i think if i wear a hybrid between a RED WING BOOT and a VIBERG. for sure this VIBERG SERVICE BOOT is a really perfect and best made boot but not my favorite one. if it might be yours, you can get it @ volls.de.  pics | LTG

yesterday i got the information from the RWS HERITAGE central europe, that the 5 new POSTMAN styles are now available @ the RWS dealers around europe. so one of the most beloved but at the same time hated styles the #101 now gets a fashion touch – with all this new colors and mostly because of the white RWS cushion crepe outsole which is really important for a lot, maybe the most of all the RWS lovers. for me, there is only one POSTMAN: the #101. here some information from RWS HERITAGE: “Red Wing Heritage proudly presents 5 new Postman shoes,  inspired by style no.101,  Red Wing’s original postman shoe. Designed, to meet Postal Service requirements,  the 101 is sturdy, sleek and simplistic and these characteristics served America’s, mailmen well. First introduced in 1954, Red Wing is now expanding on this style with five more casual variations. The new Postman shoes are built using the same leather upper as the 101 including a dog tail, blind eyelets and a Goodyear, Welt. Premium Red Wing leathers,  made at Red Wing Shoe’s very own S.B. Foot tannery are used to craft the new, Postman. The cushion crepe outsole gives these boots as much comfort as the 101, allowing for the longer walks,  as a, postman would., The Postman comes in 5 colors.
