VINTAGE LEVI’S RED JEANS FOUND | PART I “BILLY BOB”

i was searching for one of my vintage western shirts. so some days ago i was checking up one of some big ZARGES storage boxes in the basement, where i have a lot of clothes parked. stuff i won’t wear at the moment or i am just collecting like vintage western shirts and boots, work boots, denim, t-shirts … so i found 2 more than 10 years old LEVI’S RED jeans. i was so surprised how detailed these where made. today i will show you this very rare “BILLY BOB”. no selvedge, classic straight leg, a lot of zigzag stitched details, suspender buttons, … tomorrow i will continue with my LEVIS’S RED “THE HOLDEN”. maybe i will find the original suspenders till tomorrow … and damn, LEVI’S RED isn’t payable today. check the prices @ LNCC … unbelievable, there isn’t a pant under 650 €. pics | LTG

RISING SUN MFG CO. | RANCH HAND DUCK JACKET RAW INDIGO DENIM

another perfect piece for spring. too long this jacket was hanging without use brand new in my cupboard. now it’s time to rock it to get the stiffness out of the denim. this jacket has a lot of wonderful details. especially the brown duck inserts at the pockets, end of the sleeves and at the waist i love so much. it has a vintage fit, pleated front, patch pockets and a buckle back. what a nice classic piece. i got this jacket from volls.de – check the AMTRAQ page to find a RISING SUN dealer near you. pics | LTG

GITMAN VINTAGE | NAUTICAL PATTERNED SHIRTS – SPRING IS COMING

time to put the short sleeved shirts in front of the cupboard – it is getting warmer and warmer day by day here in middle germany. especially these four GITMAN VINTAGE shirts with their nautical prints i love so much. the dark blue ones with the ships and the bandana-like-pattern from the SS 2013 collection are much more heavy than the lightweight poplin shirts i got from volls.de last week. these two are so nice because of their old school nautical pattern. all new GITMAN stuff will be online @ volls.de the next days. the site will be relaunched soon with all the new stuff – check it. pics | LTG

VINTAGE JEEP ADS FROM 1945 – 1947

wonderful ads from the time when cars looked like a car has to be and a JEEP looked like a JEEP. as a graphic designer i love this style of illustration and photography of the early post war time. even more as a JEEP lover … one day i will drive a WRANGLER – for sure. pics | compiled by OLD CAR ADVERTISMENTS

BOOT OF THE DAY | #188 | WWII US ARMY & AAF M-43 SERVICE SHOES

in july 2011 i did a post about MASH’s reproduced WWII US ARMY & AAF M-42 SERVICE SHOES. this post seems to be very interested for you guys – since more than 2.5 years still a lot of people check this blogpost. so i will you show a second reproduction that is well done and sold by MASH, japan: the WWII US ARMY & AAF M-43 SERVICE SHOES. as nice as the M42 with a lot of great details exactly authentically reproduced from the original boot. the WWII shoe lasts which are well known as “DR. MUNSON’S SHOE LAST” are full copied and should be very comfortable as the MASH team appreciates. the people from MASH studied over 100 pairs of originals before the rebuild their M-43. for more detailed information check the MASH site. there you can buy these wonderful replica boots for about 360 US $. some more facts from MASH about the M-43: “goodyear welt constructed shoe, blucher Pattern, with 1/2 bellows tongue, out-side counter pocket, full toe vamp, heavy first quality bend outersole, slip tap, out-side tap of reclaim rubber and reclaim rubber heel. the leather is best quality, heavy army rough side out. the shoe is unlined.” pics | © MASH JAPAN

JOHNSON MOTORS INC. DEADSTOCK DENIM

yes, today i got another xmas present. FRED c/o redwing.1905 blog brought me a special piece of denim from LOS ANGELES which he picked up there two weeks ago: a wonderful JOMO jeans made of vintage deadstock raw denim with a lot of details. thanks to SEAN, JULIO and EDDY from JOMO, LA. i think the denim is about 14.oz and the structure of the cotton is really interesting and looking old school. very nice the two different seams at the back pockets – good idea. my pant is the first made with this closed top button; the buttons before have had a whole in the middle. the legs are open seemed and the fit is really tight and tapered. for sure this rare piece of denim is handmade at JOMO headquater in LA by taylor JULIO. FRED took some photos when JULIO made MY JOMO jeans. so guys: thank you again! pics | LTG
