Always nice to get a present. Even nicer when it is like this – great! Olli The Barber gave me the wonderful LIFETIME LEATHER CO mug when I got my haircut refreshed one week ago. LIFETIME LEATHER CO produce all their stuff by hand in Arizona. This style is named LINE 19. The Mason Jar is a 16 ounce glass, lid included. The cover and the saddle stitched hand hold are made of durable American saddle leather with an embossed LIFETIME LEATHER CO logo. They do different sorts and sizes of bags, belts, key chains, wallets … the complete leather range and all things can be customized f.ex with your name or initials. SUPER ANDY WARHOL GLASSES by RETROSUPERFUTURE “THE ICONIC SERIES”

Getting in trouble with all the glasses I wear because of blurring I decided to do a spontaneous check up @ KLAR AUGENOPTIK DARMSTADT. It was time to do this, my buddy AKRAM owner and founder of this nice shop asserted. Okay … new glasses, new frame. It took us just some minutes to do a decision for these wonderful SUPER ANDY WARHOL glasses from their THE ICONIC SERIES. This is what RETROSUPERFUTURE® tells about: “SUPER gives shape to a contemporary interpretation of the iconic style of one of the most influential modern artists – ANDY WARHOL – with an exclusive pair of optical frames. “THE EAGLE AND THE FOOTBALL” T-SHIRT PRINT FOR YOUTH FOOTBALL TEAM | ARTWORK BY KIM “THE BUTCHER” SCHREINER

Some weeks ago I spoke to Kim “The Butcher” Schreiner, if he could do an illustration for a shirt I wanted to give as a present to the D-youth Football Team DJK/SSG Darmstadt 1921, Germany, where I am the goalkeeper and assistant coach. Why Kim? I saw his work @ his facebook account and  I love it! Beside I own a shirt with an illustration he did. A great shirt against rasicm – you still can order this at Waste and Broke. OK – and Kim just said “Yes, for sure”. Great: said, done. Just 2 weeks later after our phone talk he send me the final artwork of the DJK/SSG illustration. Damn nice: an eagle – the heraldic animal of DJK/SSG Darmstadt – combined with a classic football. P E R F E C T ! With my buddy and neighbor Malte, owner of “hi5-textildruck.de” c/o hi5 GmbH, a best quality t-shirt printer was found quickly. I took little Levi and Malte’s son Lasse with me when I shot a “Making of” while the t-shirts were printed – both kicked for DJK/SSG Darmstadt former times and were curios about the print result. So speedy: 3 weeks after the first contact to Kim, the shirts got produced. Kim & Malte thx again for your great and fast support! So I could give the team and Coach Markus their t-shirts before school holidays and we finish the season 2015/16 in July. The guys were so happy with their new t-shirts … check the pics …

1ST PAT–RN x TIMEX ARCHIVE UTILITY WATCH

As a constant reader of LTG Blog you must know that I love to get limited things. So it was with this beautiful Timex Archive watch. As a great fan of 1ST PAT–RN stuff I am so happy to own #38 of just 130 produced pieces. And guys, hurry up, there are just a few left @ THE BUREAU – last restock! Her just some facts:

So old school, so classical, so simple … so nice. Cristiano Berto owner and founder of 1ST PAT–RN about the collaboration watch: “Inspiration and research was important part of the process when I’ve worked with Timex Archive staff to create the 1ST PAT-RN project. Often, especially in watchmaking, it’s easy to see out there some “re-issued” or “remake” or “homage”. It’s a easy process that does not involve so much time: just see a piece, and reproduce it. Done! No pain!  I don’t like so much that way when I design. Everything.  For the Timex Archive X 1ST PAT-RN project I have try to apply my method, exactly the same I use for my collection.  I’m started on a old Timex watch from my archive bought 23 years ago. Made in Great Britan. I’ve study any detail and working as my method always drive me (make it clean, simple and finally, chic) I have “clean” all the “surplus” details: my question was “what make this old Timex watch great?” The anwer was easy: “combination of font shapes and white, red colors” and I have try to work *only* with this three elements, place them in the fantastic Waterbury case, sized 38 mm. and use a vintage shaped plexy: simple ingredients and the Timex staff made all the great job to realize this. The result, in my opinion, was exactly what I have expected: simple, chic, easy to read. The strap is another great story to tell …” Check Cristianos FB site to read – interesting for sure! BLAUMANN JEANSHOSEN | RAW JAPAN DENIM MADE IN GERMANY

Some days ago my buddy OLIVER BREMERICH c/o BREMERICH JEANS send me a box full of BLAUMANN Products to check these. The word BLAUMANN stands in Germany normally for an easy working overall – or just generally for pure and simple working clothes. At first I thought, okay, for sure another product jumping on this heritage train, just another raw denim jeans … but I was really surprised about this original well done and stand alone German product. The “Schmaler Blaumann”, which means Tapered Fit, is a perfect fitting piece made of 15oz Kuroki Denim woven on shuttle looms from Japan. So: the denim is made in Japan, but the cut and the production, the stitching of the pants is completely done in Germany. All materials except the denim cotton, the tags, buttons, yarns and the lining for the pockets are made in Germany. A great idea while a lot of fuckers nowadays send there stuff to somewhere to produce it with child hands and people earning money under minimum wages. The pants are available in 32 and 34 inch length but are about 11 cm longer because these shall be worn with a turn up. It would be shame not to show the wonderful selvage stitch. Okay the price is not the lowest, but for a raw denim more than acceptable compared to others. Check the pics for wonderful details the BLAUMANN men put to their product … I like this a lot! With the raw denim shirt named “SCHMALES BLAUMANN-HEMD”, which means slim fit shirt, is made of 8oz Kuroki denim and all the other materials are made in Germany too. LAGUIOLE & THIERS KNIVES by PassionFrance®

2 new knives join my knife collection. Again 2 knives from my friends @ PassionFrance®. I am not a big fan of LAGUIOLE knives but when I saw this piece made with an INOX handle I knew it was a must-have. I like the cold and square-edged grip of this cool and clean knife a lot. Take a look at the smart ornaments, clear lines. It is about 11cm long when it is closed with a welded bee. The Sandwik blade is rust free. The absolute opposite to the INOX handle: a nature textured grip – organic. The THIERS is very clean done too: pure clear lines, no needles bric-a-brac, and easy to handle. I love it! THE IRON SOCIETY POMADE | HANDMADE IN BROOKLYN

Some weeks ago I got this awesome “Grooming Package” from my soul brother Kornelius c/o Soulobjects.de, Berlin. The IRON SOCIETY POMADE he send me in all three versions, is from this day on my absolutely favorite pomade. The benefit is, that you just can use the type of pomade you need for the day. From firm hold – as its name says with a stronger grip – over a normal hold that keeps the hair under control for “that neat freshly combed look” to a water soluble pomade with a medium firm hold. All types have unbeatable smells: aromatic, fresh and clean but at the same very masculine and dirty – perfect. I get the best results by mixing the water soluble pomade with the firm hold one or the normal hold one. Another effect by mixing the classic petroleum based pomades with the water soluble one is, that the wash out works perfect.
