Got a box with 2 BRÜTTING DIAMOND BRAND trainers some days ago to check the stuff. And I was surprised – really. I am not a great sneaker or trainer fan for sure, so I wear these when I do sports in the gym or while running. But these BRÜTTING DIAMOND BRAND thing is not only a sneaker. These shoes are the only sneaker which are made completely by hand in Germany. The brands manufacture stands for lastingness, highest quality and a human measure. Only the best materials are used and everything is checked by strict high-quality controls. The shoes feature a natural rubber sole which gives every shoe an individual character. The rubber heel cap is a typical brand recognition. Also the waxed laces are made in Germany – with the “MELBOURNE” you get a second pair of laces in blue, red or black – nice! The leather insoles are replaceable. I can tell you that the shoe is mega comfortable. The magic square BRÜTTING DIAMANOD brand leather patch is really expressive and lives up the earlier success at the premium sneaker market. Since the late 60s BRÜTTING trainers and runners were produced. From this time on the brand name BRÜTTING stands for a perfect fit, highest quality and best comfort. EUGEN BRÜTTING developed shoe lasts, that were worn by the whole runner elite at this time. The models “ROAD RUNNER” und “ASTROTURFER” got cult status in the runners scene till today. The BRÜTTING DIAMOND BRAND sneakers are based on this former styles. The “MELBOURNE” is a redesigned allround jogger and the black ”LONG JOG” is an update of the classic model ”ASTROTURFER”.

BLAUMANN JEANSHOSEN | RAW JAPAN DENIM MADE IN GERMANY

Some days ago my buddy OLIVER BREMERICH c/o BREMERICH JEANS send me a box full of BLAUMANN Products to check these. The word BLAUMANN stands in Germany normally for an easy working overall – or just generally for pure and simple working clothes. At first I thought, okay, for sure another product jumping on this heritage train, just another raw denim jeans … but I was really surprised about this original well done and stand alone German product. The “Schmaler Blaumann”, which means Tapered Fit, is a perfect fitting piece made of 15oz Kuroki Denim woven on shuttle looms from Japan. So: the denim is made in Japan, but the cut and the production, the stitching of the pants is completely done in Germany. All materials except the denim cotton, the tags, buttons, yarns and the lining for the pockets are made in Germany. A great idea while a lot of fuckers nowadays send there stuff to somewhere to produce it with child hands and people earning money under minimum wages. The pants are available in 32 and 34 inch length but are about 11 cm longer because these shall be worn with a turn up. It would be shame not to show the wonderful selvage stitch. Okay the price is not the lowest, but for a raw denim more than acceptable compared to others. Check the pics for wonderful details the BLAUMANN men put to their product … I like this a lot! THE IRON SOCIETY POMADE | HANDMADE IN BROOKLYN

Some weeks ago I got this awesome “Grooming Package” from my soul brother Kornelius c/o Soulobjects.de, Berlin. The IRON SOCIETY POMADE he send me in all three versions, is from this day on my absolutely favorite pomade. The benefit is, that you just can use the type of pomade you need for the day. From firm hold – as its name says with a stronger grip – over a normal hold that keeps the hair under control for “that neat freshly combed look” to a water soluble pomade with a medium firm hold. All types have unbeatable smells: aromatic, fresh and clean but at the same very masculine and dirty – perfect. I get the best results by mixing the water soluble pomade with the firm hold one or the normal hold one. Another effect by mixing the classic petroleum based pomades with the water soluble one is, that the wash out works perfect. SOCKS THAT DON’T SUCK | ANONYMOUS ISM

Guys, it’s getting winter here in middle Germany. No more Oxfords without socks. Time to sock up with socks that don’t suck. Beside my Red Wing Shoes socks and CHUPS I always wear in all my boots from Alden over Rocky Heritage Boots to White’s these four pairs of ANONYMOUS ISM are the first I’ll try. The Anchor Socks are not really made for extreme cold conditions but perfect for fall. The camouflage ones are really thick and warm – and so cozy! The unique socks of ANONYMOUS ISM are woven on looms from the 1970s in a Japanese manufacture. Made from natural materials and thick yarns the socks are produced in distinct colors and peerless patterns. By built of the looms and use of quality yarns the efficiency of the machinery is limited to less than 50 pairs of these thick and durable socks per day! Okay … whatever, I love the designs. iPhone 6S LEATHER SLEEVE BY ALEXANDER VON BRONEWSKI MANUFAKTUR

I am really pissed that APPLE changes always the sizes of phones when they develop new models. Cases, sleeves and car holder must be updated. So I am really happy to get a new sleeve for my 6S by my buddy ALEXANDER VON BRONEWSKI because he normally doesn’t do phone sleeves anymore. Thx AvB for this special thing! The 5S sleeve will be kept in the family for sure. It is so nice to see these tan cognac colored cowhide sleeves aging. Check the pics to compare the new sleeve to the old one. pics | LTG

LEVI’S HAND-STITCHED LEATHER BASEBALL | THE BEST “HANDSCHMEICHLER” EVER

Last Sunday I went to B74, Frankfurt/Main, Germany to visit my buddy Kami. B74 was open on Sunday because in Frankfurt there was the gigantic “25-Years-German-Wiedervereinings-Party” – most shops opened their doors and the city was crowded. This little LEVI’S LEATHER GOODS gimmick was lying at the desk and it looked so wonderful – just while lying there as it wanted to say: come and take me with you 😉 … but Kami: “Not for sale … even for buddies – no chance”. Okay, he just got 2 of these and the first owner of this pretty hand-stitched baseball was standing beside me. So proud of his daily companion. This piece of leather is really nice to touch and to handle, press and turn around in the hand … so f***ing relaxing. But this short story came to an happy end, because Kami gave it to me – he wants to check LEVI’S for a third one. Unfortunately I can’t give you further informations about the ball because you don’t find anything about in wwww – no chance – and I do not know anything about the history of baseballs and how they are made. When I got the ball out of the cotton bag I put some RED WING SHOES mink oil on it. The ball got an even better touch and a nicer color – I am excited about how my new „Handschmeichler“ will age … pics | LTG

DOL GIN & BOIS 1920 DOLCE DI GIORNO FOR MY SOUL FROM SOUL OBJECTS, BERLIN

Do you know SOUL OBJECTS? I think everyone knows soul objects and has some favorite soul objects for his own. But do you know the store SOUL OBJECTS? If you don’t it is time to check it out. SOUL OBJECTS is a great store in the heart of Berlin, Germany. In short: you get there vintage & antique furniture, curious beard grooming products and barbershop supplies,  non-standard accessories,  a lot of handmade, unique stuff & bags, vintage rum & whiskey, gin, wine, art and, and, and so on. It is a must to check their site to learn more about this great store and its owners Kornelius & Oliver, men full of soul – they live what they sell. Look at the wonderful store photos full of soul below … awesome. Anyway, some weeks ago i ordered a new fragrance and another gin for my collection. Best choice! The Bois 1920 DOLCE DI GIORNO – Eau de Parfum is really something special. It would be too much to describe the smell and the idea behind this fragrance – and something more special: i got a limited art collection piece with a nice package design. DOL GIN is a direct hit for my gin collection. Great taste, not to fruity but so smooth. It is made in South Tirol, Italy. This is what the distiller says about his gin: “Florian Rabanser,  the master distiller at Plunhof,  is not only a perfectionist when it comes to the distillation of classic brandies and grappas,  but he is also overflowing with creativity and impetus when it comes to the implementation of new ideas. Two years of developmental work have brought us the first gin distilled in the region,  the first distilled only from herbs and ingredients grown here in the Dolomites. Together with the village apothecary,  we have meticulously analyzed which herbs typically used in the production of gin grow here in the Dolomites,  and which can be reasonably substituted with other local herbs. The high quality outcome is a real insiders’ tip and contains numerous plants and herbs,  which grow wildly here in the area of Mount Sciliar. FEINSCHMUCK LOOKBOOK by JOERN POLLEX

Yesterday i got a nice looking envelop with my daily post. Love this: a real hand written message brought by my postman to the letterbox. It was from JOERN POLLEX, well known as a great photographer located in Hamburg, Germany. He send me the new lookbook from FEINSCHMUCK which he photographed and did the layout – in short: a fantastic work. As a frequently reader of LTG blog you know that I am a great fan of FEINSCHMUCK from the first hour on. And now with this very well done lookbook all the work from MANFRED, MARIA and ALEX is packed into a perfect media to hand out and to look at. iPhone LEATHER SLEEVE by ALEXANDER VON BRONWSKI MANUFAKTUR

Guys it’s a while ago that I got my leather iPhone 5 sleeve handmade by leather artisan ALEXANDER VON BRONEWSKI, but the last weeks i had too much work and there is just less time to do LIFE TIME GEAR. But here are the photos of this great work from my buddy Alex v.B.. Now my “i-Phone-Pad-Collection” is completed. It is about 8 weeks ago I made these photos and the sleeve got meanwhile some nice patina and a smooth grip in daily use. Great! Like the iPad sleeve this one is also made of made of tan, cognac colored cowhide from the south of germany and sewn with waxed twine made of linen. Love it! pics | LTG

CUSTOM LEATHER WALLET LANEYARD COMBINED WITH A SILVER STINGRAY HOOK FO RED MOON WALLET | by FEINSCHMUCK

I think this is one of the most awesome pieces I own. Damn, when I got this shit out of the sack where it was packed i said “YES, YES, YES … this is it” Great. FEINSCHMUCK you did best work again. The stingray patterned hook is so nice to look at and touch and the lanyard which was done by great leather artisan ARNO BUCK needs no words. Sorry, but i must praise myself a bit because the idea for this combination i had myself. The lanyard of my beloved RED MOON wallet which is now about 9 years old breaks more and more and so i was searching for a lanyard which fits this wonderful wallet … but i couldn’t find one. So FEINSCHMUCK and ARNO had to made one. THX ALEXANDER for attending this great job and made my idea real. The anchor is a vintage piece from WERKSTATT MUENCHEN; it’s about 15 years old and I wore it a long time around my neck. enjoy the pics. pics | LTG
