GOLDBERNER DRY GIN & GYLD “KRAEUTERELIXIER” BY THE ELWERT BROTHERS IN BAVARIA, GERMANY

Some weeks ago I went to a small fair in Mainz which travels through Germany the “Stijl DesignMarkt”. There I met one of the Elwert Brothers and picked up a new GIN and a liquor made of 11 precious herbs called GYLD. After I tried both I must tell you that both are amazing – the taste is very well. GYLD is a well balanced mix of german and some foreign herbs f. ex. ginger, vanilla, cardamom and star anis. The taste is so unique and smooth. As I remember the father of the Elwerts was a pharmacist in 3rd-generation in Böhmenkirch near Augsburg, Bavaria, and he developed and sold this liquor to the folks who appreciated now named GYLD as a well healing medicine: A so called “Lebenselixir” in german – an elixir for life. 2013 the Elwert brothers began to promote GYLD in a new and temporary way. Furthermore they created a new DRY GIN named “GOLDBERNER” and the peppermint liquor “WEISSER PFEFFER” (white pepper). The peppermint liquor I did not tried yet. “GOLDBERNER” is a wonderful fresh and natural tasting GIN done from the ingredients and botanicals of GYLD with an incisive note of juniper and spurs of orange peel. I love the really fruity taste of this 45 Vol. % strong Dry Gin. Guys – just taste it. The Elwert Brothers have a well designed website where you can order this tasty stuff: gebruederelwert.de

ALDEN x VOLLS INDY BOOT CUSTOMIZED BY SCHUHGOTT

Hi guys, long time no blog … I am sorry, but my real life needs me: toooooo much work, a lot of trouble the last weeks.  I hope it will get better now. Yesterday I wore these amazing customized ALDEN x VOLLS INDY BOOTS for the first time after customized by INGO KELLER who runs SCHUHGOTT in Cologne, Germany. And I must tell you, that these boots were much more comfortable to wear than before: great walking. I bought these ALDEN x VOLLS cooperation boot 2 years ago and I wore it just several times. I am not a friend of “just leather soles”. I know that a lot of you will say “Damn this boot looks quiet smarter with a pure leather sole”, but I didn’t like it. I wore too often work boots and heavy western boots. When I wear a boot or a shoe with a leather sole I have the feeling wearing ballet shoes, not to mention about the grip. INGO put classic DAINITE sole and heel under a double leather sole construction and I love the look now – and the comfortably. A really clean and perfect work for my now daily ALDEN. If you want to customize your boots or shoes just contact INGO. He is open minded to your wishes and a specialist for Red Wing Shoes resoling:

PASTA DEL CAPITANO 1905 ORIGINAL | ITALIAN TOOTHPASTE WITH UN UNFORGATBLE TASTE

Men, this toothpaste has not just a nice package, no, the taste is also really great. And beside this it is healthy, gives you a fresh breath and bright wight teeth. Kornelius Werhahn-Mees c/o SOULOBJECTS, Berlin, send me this wonderful parabene free toothpaste with a lot of other things to try some weeks ago and I must confess that this is the next highlight out of the box. Unbelievable that PASTA EL CAPITANO was introduced in Italy in 1905. Because of its wonderful and unique taste the toothpaste got very fast well known in Italy. The basic ingredients are green mints, cinnamon and clove leaves. SOULOBJECTS offers four sorts of PASTA EL CAPITANO beside the ORIGINAL: Natural Herbs, ACE, Whitening and Smokers. For more and detailed information please check the SOULOBJECTS website. I tried the toothpaste with a new KOH-I-NOOR toothbrush Kornelius also send me. Normally I clean my teeth with an electric toothbrush but I must confess that the KOH-I-NOOR cleaning was really genial. For sure Kornelius send me with this toothbrush another classic from the 1930s with natural bristles and an old school horn look. Made in Italy too. A great combination to get clean teeth and a fresh breath – this makes fun! pics | LTG

FATIGUE PANTS by TELLASON | BRAND NEW CLASSIC STUFF

Last week Uwe E. Maier c/o Amtraq Distribution send me this brand new classic Fatigue Pants made by TELLASON. Damn – these are really nice. So comfortable, loose fit but with contemporary tapered legs for a perfect fit and look. The design is classic – Fatigue Pant in 8.5 oz cotton sateen, based on the famous OG-107: “The OG-107 was the basic work utility uniform of all branches of the United States Armed Forces from 1952 until its discontinuation in 1989. The designation came from the U.S. Army’s coloring code “Olive Green 107” and “Olive Green 507”, which were shades of dark green, the OG-107 being cotton and OG-507 polyester-cotton blend introduced in the early 1970s. Regardless of the fabric, the two shades were almost identical. The OG-107 was superseded by the Battle Dress Uniform (BDU) throughout the 1980s, and was also used by several other countries, including ones that received military aid from the United States.” TELLASON offers this modern well done  “Replica” in khaki and traditional olive. The Fatigues are Made in Italy, are pre-washed and feature a zip fly, the typical buttoned back and large front pockets. I wore the pants for the first time when doing the pics … I still wear the olive one … love it: so comfortable, so good lookin’ … So: this is what I call Life Time Gear! The pants are exclusively available @ B74, Cultizm, UBS Classics, Riders Room, Gross4 Aces, Trekkingladen Regensburg, Bremerich Jeans, Denim & Iron and Lord. pics | LTG

CHEVROLET CAMARO 1969 | TOP THREE MOST COLLECTIBLE Z/28, L78 & COPO

As a constant reader of LTG blog you must know that I love late 60s and 70s US muscle cars, especially CAMAROS! Myself, I own a CAMARO 5th generation, but my dream is a 67 or 69. Take a look at these three black beauties – damn, one nicer than the other – dreaming for this …

Car aficionado and all-around GM guy Steve Shauger has collected quite a few Chevy pony cars in his day, but he insists the 1969 model is the best. In his search for the greatest Camaros ever built, he has corralled these three stunners, all glazed in Code 10 Tuxedo Black paint. Only 1.7 percent of the Camaros built that year wore that particular code on their flanks, adding to the hue’s rarity.
For technical informations and some history of this three CAMAROS please check this link: www.superchevy.com. all pics | http://www.superchevy.com

RUNBELL – A RUNNERS MUST HAVE ITEM | AVOID SURPRISES AND COLLISIONS DURING YOUR RUN

After heavy trouble with my back I started the running year 2016 this week with two short runs about 8 kilometers. Last summer I found this damn wonderful gadget RUNBELL, but I did not found the right time to do a blog post about. Now I do, because of using it the first time today. All the time my wonderful RUNBELL was still in its case. I start all my runs straight from the Life Time Gear central in the middle of my hometown. It is really annoying that all 3 meters I have to shout “Attention please”, “Soooooorry”, “please make way”, … but with my RUNBELL, I just have to flip my fingers – it works great! Perfect – I enjoy it so much. It is perfect for the urban runner and also in the forest or the fields if you pass walker and especially dog walker. The RUNBELL is sold in 2 different materials: gold and copper. When I bought mine copper was sold out. But the golden one doesn’t look so bad at all. You can customize your RUNBELL sizes – they designed RUNBELL to be slightly oversized to fit even large hands comfortably. They supply two pairs of silicone inserts with every RUNBELL, so the ring size can be reduced to fit every finger perfectly. On cold days you can leave out the insert and wear RUNBELL over the glove – so I did today. It is hand made in TOKYO, Japan. Please check the RUNBELL site for much more interesting and also funny stuff. pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #193 | POST WAR II LACE UP BOOTS

Something special today. Please excuse the “non-perfect” pics but I did not make these myself. My boot buddy from Facebook’s BootOC – Boot Owners Club – HOUTY send me this from his new unworn dead stock post World War II boots. Aren’t these wonderful? Best condition. He bought the boots in Amsterdam for – in German we  say: “Apfel und ein Ei” – …  an apple and an egg … what means very cheap.  Houty wrote me that the  boots are built as robust as the vintage German tank TIGER – and indeed, they look damn tight. The boots must be made in the early fifties; before this time German military boots had no laces: mybe you know the famous “Knobelbecher”. I think they are about 6″ high, have a massive profiled nailed VORWERK sole, leather insole, 6 eyelets and a metal shank at the toe. Houty put the laces of his vintage Red Wing’s Beckman to it. Best look – great deal! If you have some questions concerning to the boots, please feel free to contact Houty. pics | HOUTY

GROOMING STUFF FROM SOUL OBJECTS BERLIN … AS A PRESENT … UNBELIEVABLE

Hi guys, first blog post 2016. I am sorry, but work was so hard and busy the first days of the new year. After a complete working through weekend it was such a pleasure to get a big parcel from SOUL OBJECTS BERLIN as a present – yes, as a present – this monday. What a superb surprise! Thank you so much soul sisters and brothers Melanie Rieman, Kornelius Werhahn-Mees and Oliver Hausner you made me really happy this day. What a perfect start for this week. And the best is, that I will have fun for weeks with this stuff. I noticed that the soul family send a lot of new products I do not know by now – exciting. I will try everything hard and tell you about the stuff at Life Time Gear. I am really curios about the new pomades from The Iron Society, Brooklyn. I got them all – 3 different sorts … YES! Also the products from The Brighton Beard Company make me very curios. Isn’t the design of the tins, the soap and the bags nice? Also the Laboratorio Avere La Barba products – MADE IN ITALY, inspired by the force and intelligence of nature  … Thanks again for this SOUL FOOD! pics | LTG
