TSPTR x EBBETS FIELD FLANNELS CHARLIE CAP

As a constant reader of LIFE TIME GEAR blog you must know that I am a great fan of EBBETS FIELD FLANNELS caps. I own a lot of because I love this heritage, classic and authentic look. Beside, the fit is perfect. When I order a 7 1/4 it is a 7 1/4 – every cap has the same fit and believe me this isn’t the norm i f you compare to other labels. Some days ago I discovered the woolen CHARLIE BROWN baseball cap which is the result of a collaboration between 60s counterculture-inspired brand TSPTR – which stand for Truth, Symmetry, Pleasure, Taste, Recognition – and EBBETS FIELD FLANNELS. Certainly made in the USA of a grey melange wool with an adjustable leather tab and calf leather trim. “CHARLIE BROWN” is constructed with the same soft wool which is used for EBBETS’ vintage baseball uniforms – great, isn’t it? This is my first EBBETS which is not made to size and the fit is perfect too. I know it from the moment on I took it out of the parcel which came from CALIROOTS: this is a new Life Time Gear piece. pics | LTG

POCKETKNIFE WITH PANCAKE HOLSTER by ONDURA DURABLE GOODS

I own a lot of knives but not such a nice combination: The ONDURA pocketknife with its so well done pancake holster – an absolute must have for men loving knives, collecting knives … The knife is a simple classic German pocketknife, which was developed and produced by famous OTTER-Messer Company in Solingen/Germany. For ONDURA it was really important to get a knife which is made complete traditionally here in Germany. The blade length is 100 mm and made of carbon steel. For safety reasons it is fitted with a backlock. The handles are so nice to touch – in German we call this a “Handschmeichler” –, these are made from olive wood with a nice texture. The brass ONDURA bear in the inlay is not just nice to watch: the bear on the knife and the bear on the holster must be covered by each other – there is only one way to put the knife into the holster: bear over bear. This works perfect! The “pancake” holster is made of two 4mm thick vegetal tanned leather layers  It is clued, sewed and riveted, mould and decorated with the ONDURA bear branding. The edges are brushed and polished. ONDURA offers also the perfect belt for the holster, the Workman Belt in tan. But I think it fits my vintage DUKES belt as good … Now the holster must age in daily use … exciting about the look it will get. BUTTS AND SHOULDERS NEW GOODYEAR WELTED BOOTS

Today, back to the boots. My buddy WOUTER c/o BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and LONG JOHN blog send me some pics of the new B&S boot which had its premier @ the MODEFABRIEK FAIR AMSTERDAM a few days ago. Very nice.This classic boot is made in Portugal from a natural vegetable tanned leather and it is fitted with a GOODYEAR welted construction. Look at the pics – the leather is aging so wonderful. WORKADAY WALLET by TANNER GOODS

What a lucky break. When visiting KAMI c/o B74 in Frankfurt some days ago, i found this nice little wallet lying in a glass cabinet. Didn’t noticed this TANNER GOODS classic before. It is their so called “WORKADAY WALLET” with enough space for many banknotes and a lot of cards. Great to put this little thing in the back pocket of your denim or chino. It is combined with waxed canvas and smooth leather. KAMI told me that there was a special edition which combined leather with this f***ing nice flashy orange hunting canvas. If anyone still has one of these please send me a message – thx. Isn’t the combination with my vintage TANNER GOODS card holder great? I wanna use the WW just for notes, not for cards. The other WW is owned by KAMI. He has his WW in use for about one year. iPhone LEATHER SLEEVE by ALEXANDER VON BRONWSKI MANUFAKTUR

Guys it’s a while ago that I got my leather iPhone 5 sleeve handmade by leather artisan ALEXANDER VON BRONEWSKI, but the last weeks i had too much work and there is just less time to do LIFE TIME GEAR. But here are the photos of this great work from my buddy Alex v.B.. Now my “i-Phone-Pad-Collection” is completed. It is about 8 weeks ago I made these photos and the sleeve got meanwhile some nice patina and a smooth grip in daily use. Great! Like the iPad sleeve this one is also made of made of tan, cognac colored cowhide from the south of germany and sewn with waxed twine made of linen. Love it! pics | LTG

BLACK VEGETABLE LEATHER SUNGLASS CASE | by ONDURA – DURABLE GOODS

A few days ago I got an envelope addressed by ONDURA. ONDURA? I heard about but where? And while opening i got an idea: i know it from the BURG & SCHILD blog. Yes, ONDURA DURABLE GOODS is the Label behind German LEENS JAN ONDRA. He has an interesting story and I am really happy, that he send me this great sunglass case to check it … and for sure for me it is an honor to write something about it. The case from the “Black Bear”-Edition has a great touch, made of 3 mm high quality vegetable leather. It is hand sewn and the “nose” is made from European beech wood. Because I also wear optical glasses I know what a good glass case makes a good one: and this one is a perfect one. The functionality is impressing even when I put my fat framed glasses to it. It is always easy to close the case, nothing is to tight, to bulky. Next time I will order the another one – I think a tan one. And for sure everything is made by hand here in Germany. Sustainability is really important for LEENS. The leather he uses is from a small tannery just around the corner and all the other needed stuff is from the region he lives. His motto is “Local Goods – Think global buy local.” Authenticity and durability are a matter of course to the products he creates and produces. The product range is growing constant. BOOT OF THE DAY | #192 | ALDEN DARK BROWN COUNTRY CALF GRAIN INDY BOOT @ FRANS BOONE

What a wonderful boot! When I had to compose a boot for my own it could have the same look as this ALDEN available @ FRANS BOONE did with. From the bootleg to the sole – just perfect. Love the chocolate structured grain calf leather combined with one of my most beloved soles: the ALDEN crepe sole with a leather tip. Combine this great look: the brass eyelets and hooks. CUSTOM LEATHER WALLET LANEYARD COMBINED WITH A SILVER STINGRAY HOOK FO RED MOON WALLET | by FEINSCHMUCK

I think this is one of the most awesome pieces I own. Damn, when I got this shit out of the sack where it was packed i said “YES, YES, YES … this is it” Great. FEINSCHMUCK you did best work again. The stingray patterned hook is so nice to look at and touch and the lanyard which was done by great leather artisan ARNO BUCK needs no words. Sorry, but i must praise myself a bit because the idea for this combination i had myself. The lanyard of my beloved RED MOON wallet which is now about 9 years old breaks more and more and so i was searching for a lanyard which fits this wonderful wallet … but i couldn’t find one. So FEINSCHMUCK and ARNO had to made one. THX ALEXANDER for attending this great job and made my idea real. The anchor is a vintage piece from WERKSTATT MUENCHEN; it’s about 15 years old and I wore it a long time around my neck. enjoy the pics. pics | LTG

BUTTS AND SHOULDERS | THE ROUGH COLLECTION – NEW BAG COLLECTION LAUNCHED

Some day ago I got some news from my buddy WOUTERS co-founder of BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and the man behind the great LONG JOHN blog. They launched their new collection named “THE ROUGH COLLECTION”. this collection “are variations on our beloved virgins”, they say, “The same bold Butts and Shoulders style and the same attention it deserves. Clean and classic with a lot of style!”. So the collection features the 3 classic BAS bags: Travel Bag, Worker Bag – my favorite – and the Post Bag. All models are now availabe in four new treated leather variations: brown (cognac),  dark brown,  dark Green (army) and striped blue/black leather. On every bag the brnading is sprayed by hand. And for sure these great bags will getting even nicer by using them everyday. As all BAS stuff these bags are made in Holland, Europe, in stricly limited quantities. iPad Air2 LEATHER SLEEVE by ALEXANDER VON BRONEWSKI MANUFAKTUR

yesterday i got my new iPad Air2 SLEEVE handmade by my budy ALEX c/o be-cause blog and owner & founder of ALEXANDER VON BRONEWSKI MANUFAKTUR. what a wonderful piece of craftmanship. the touch is so great, so natural smooth and the fit for the iPad is perfect. The sleeve is made of tan, cognac colored cowhide from the south of germany and sewn with waxed twine made of linen. so, now it’s time to rug’n’roll for the sleeve … thx, ALEX! pics | LTG
