some more pics from my visit 2 days ago @ VOLLS. beside the new SPIEWAK stuff i showed you yesterday @ LTG i took some pics of the some new IRON HEART stuff for the upcoming winter season. but there is much more classic IRON HEART stuff in the shop than i shot, but i love these colorful 12oz ultra heavy flannel western shirts so much. when i went to the post office yesterday i did a short turn to VOLLS, checking some new stuff KLAUS got the last days. i was really excited about the new SPIEWAK GOLDEN FLEECE jackets. especially the WAXED DECK JACKETS i like a lot. these DECK JACKETS were some of the most favorite jackets for the US FORCES in the 1940s. SPIEWAK was the official manufacturer of the us navy and air force and so the first maker of the nowadays famous and classic deck jackets. they are available in classic olive and navy blue with a shearling collar. both are made of waxed cotton. the camouflage jacket is an absolute damn f***ing must-have item. it is really special but so nice. i am sorry that i don’t have any more informations about it – i was flashed that i forgot to ask KLAUS about some facts. check volls.de, i think the jacket will be soon online in KLAUS’ shop – the deck jackets are online right now. the down filled AVIATION SNORKEL PARKAS are a contemporary interpretation of the famous and classic N3-B PARKAs from the 1950s. these are nice too but mainly useful with their TEFLON coated, wind and water resistant outer fabrics and a lot of other practically features and details. yesterday i got some news from my dear friend WOUTERS aka MR LONG JOHN and co-founder and owner of BUTTS AND SHOULDERS. they did a collaboration with netherlands beer brand BEERZE BEER. the result is a great looking leather apron ands a beer bottle opener –great idea. for sure both products are made by hand of true craftsmen. the apron is made of natural vegetable tanned leather and i promise you, it will age wonderful in use. each of these is numbered. i think the stuff will be available at the BUTTS AND SHOULDER site, when it was launched at friday 24th of october during the the DUTCH DESIGN WEEK in eindhoven, netherlands. they will organize a special event for this at Bergstraat 14a – CHEERS! pics | Butts and Shoulders
berlin based mens outfitter Burg & Schild and swedish denim brand INDIGOFERA did a collab. the idea behind this, is so simple as perfect: what do you really need for a bike trip? yes: a pair of jeans, a hoodie, a vest and a blanket. this is what they did. check the amazing film where the boys bring these iconic items to the streets in sweden. vid | Burg & Schild // Indigofera

i was really surprised when i got the package full of these utmost organic grooming products from the BROOKLYN SOAP COMPANY. rarely i got such a tasteful packed box and not to mention the look of the bottles – awesome! one of the best designs of grooming products i ever saw. and every bottle has its own handwritten paper which person from the company filled it up and a hand stamped date how long the product can be used – love this! this means something personal and human to me in this f***ing fast digital and cursory times. all products are “cooked home-style” with natural and organic ingredients. the statement “born in brooklyn – made in germany”, in HAMBURG, i do not understand really – couldn’t find any information about this. hm, anyway all products are developed and made in germany. the ingredients, even the bottles and the other hardware come from german manufactures. for more information please check their site. i got the bodywash, shampoo and beardwash – all products are since 3 days in use. the beard and the bodywash work perfect and the smell is really exciting fresh but at the same so smooth and cushy. with the shampoo i am a bit doubtful because i am using pomade, LAYRITE, a water soluble one, but i have to work it out hard. maybe i just have to take some more shampoo, hotter water … – i don’t know, i will test it. it is a pity that the pomade and the deodorant are sold out; curios to test these too. beside, in 2014 the company won the REDDOT AWARD – congrats! pics | LTG
at first, i always loved the green RWS boots color and i owned an original from the sixties: an 888 IRISH SETTER made of this smooth and rare green kangaroo leather. yesterday i went to frankfurt with the family to visit KAMI, owner of RED WING STORE FRANKFURT. we talked a lot and when we said good bye he showed me this damn f***ing nice green boots: the new, reissued #8180. he told me that the boot will be officially presented this monday by RED WING SHOES. so, it was great and a pleasure for me to do a post before the presentation ;-))
Here is the history about the #8180: “in 1963, RWS developed a premium sport boot using australian kangaroo leather. identified by its unique green color, the boot was developed exclusively for SEARS and carried the TED WILLIAM label. when i sold my cargo BULLIT bike i had to check another possibility to transport larger shopping stuff when i am on the road with my SCHINDELHAUER. so i remembered me the days before i got my BULLIT: yes, in the closet there had be a big CANOE PACK from DULUTH. i knew why i did not sell this wonderful backpack. it’s unbelievable what you can put into this 19H x 18W x 6D pack. when i shop food i use a special basket which i bought with the pack. believe me, this is really practicable and easy to carry. the #2 CRUISER COMBO is made in the usa & guaranteed for life. by standard it is made in olive drab or waxed 18-ounce canvas but a lot of other colors from blue to orange are available too. for more information check the DULUTH site. be careful there are a lot of other must-have bags and packs … pics | LTG

POPEYE got updated by SONY PICTURES ANIMATION. as a great POPEYE fan i do not really know if i like what i see here. SONY has dropped a test footage: just with temp voices and the caveat this sequence will not used in the finished movie. well know GENNDY TARTAKOVSKY (HOTEL TRANSYLAVANIA) is the maker of the new POPEYE film and he shares the enthusiasm for the project and character. it is his desire to update it and be respectful. but take a view …the film be be released in 2016. video // © Sony Pictures Animation // Genndy Tartakovsky
