BLAUMANN JEANSHOSEN | RAW JAPAN DENIM MADE IN GERMANY

Some days ago my buddy OLIVER BREMERICH c/o BREMERICH JEANS send me a box full of BLAUMANN Products to check these. The word BLAUMANN stands in Germany normally for an easy working overall – or just generally for pure and simple working clothes. At first I thought, okay, for sure another product jumping on this heritage train, just another raw denim jeans … but I was really surprised about this original well done and stand alone German product. The “Schmaler Blaumann”, which means Tapered Fit, is a perfect fitting piece made of 15oz Kuroki Denim woven on shuttle looms from Japan. So: the denim is made in Japan, but the cut and the production, the stitching of the pants is completely done in Germany. All materials except the denim cotton, the tags, buttons, yarns and the lining for the pockets are made in Germany. A great idea while a lot of fuckers nowadays send there stuff to somewhere to produce it with child hands and people earning money under minimum wages. The pants are available in 32 and 34 inch length but are about 11 cm longer because these shall be worn with a turn up. It would be shame not to show the wonderful selvage stitch. Okay the price is not the lowest, but for a raw denim more than acceptable compared to others. Check the pics for wonderful details the BLAUMANN men put to their product … I like this a lot! With the raw denim shirt named “SCHMALES BLAUMANN-HEMD”, which means slim fit shirt, is made of 8oz Kuroki denim and all the other materials are made in Germany too. RUNBELL – A RUNNERS MUST HAVE ITEM | AVOID SURPRISES AND COLLISIONS DURING YOUR RUN

After heavy trouble with my back I started the running year 2016 this week with two short runs about 8 kilometers. Last summer I found this damn wonderful gadget RUNBELL, but I did not found the right time to do a blog post about. Now I do, because of using it the first time today. All the time my wonderful RUNBELL was still in its case. I start all my runs straight from the Life Time Gear central in the middle of my hometown. It is really annoying that all 3 meters I have to shout “Attention please”, “Soooooorry”, “please make way”, … but with my RUNBELL, I just have to flip my fingers – it works great! Perfect – I enjoy it so much. It is perfect for the urban runner and also in the forest or the fields if you pass walker and especially dog walker. The RUNBELL is sold in 2 different materials: gold and copper. When I bought mine copper was sold out. But the golden one doesn’t look so bad at all. You can customize your RUNBELL sizes – they designed RUNBELL to be slightly oversized to fit even large hands comfortably. They supply two pairs of silicone inserts with every RUNBELL, so the ring size can be reduced to fit every finger perfectly. On cold days you can leave out the insert and wear RUNBELL over the glove – so I did today. It is hand made in TOKYO, Japan. JUST SOME X-MAS PRESENT IDEAS | #09 TELLASON W10 LONG SLEEVE SINGLE POCKET SHIRT

Damn, aren’t these nice? This week Uwe E. Mair c/o AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION gave me the new SINGLE POCKET LONG SLEEVE SHIRT by TELLASON in two different versions. The shirt is based on a dress shirt from the 1950s which TONY PATELLA, founder and co-owner of TELLASAON, got in his vintage collection. I love this authentic old-school look, with that big, masculine collar, one front pocket and the “heavy duty” finish. The dark navy one is made of an unwashed 7.5oz twill from japan. Take a look at the Corozo (ivory nut) buttons – so nice. The stripped shirt is made of a Cone Mills White Oak vintage reproduction 100% cotton fabric. Its look is smarter and the wear is it too … not so heavy duty. The fabric has a softer touch – very comfortable and a great look with its stripes. Same cut, but tow different wonderful shirts – both Made in San Francisco, California. For your last xmas buys check the TELLASON site. SOCKS THAT DON’T SUCK | ANONYMOUS ISM

Guys, it’s getting winter here in middle Germany. No more Oxfords without socks. Time to sock up with socks that don’t suck. Beside my Red Wing Shoes socks and CHUPS I always wear in all my boots from Alden over Rocky Heritage Boots to White’s these four pairs of ANONYMOUS ISM are the first I’ll try. The Anchor Socks are not really made for extreme cold conditions but perfect for fall. The camouflage ones are really thick and warm – and so cozy! The unique socks of ANONYMOUS ISM are woven on looms from the 1970s in a Japanese manufacture. Made from natural materials and thick yarns the socks are produced in distinct colors and peerless patterns. Constant readers of LTG Blog know that I like blue RWS a lot. Two years ago I got the indigo colored classic work #8100 Oxford from Japan and I still love it. The #8882 is the same shoe just 6″ high like the classic #875, moc toed, made of Indigo Portage Leather and completed by the Traction Tred Cushion Crepe Wedge. Very nice is the brown ending of the bootleg – a small detail, but I love the contrast between the rich blue and brown leather. Another nice feature: you don’t get only the standard Red Wing Shoe Laces but a second pair made of leather. The leather laces look very nice but for me these are not so practical. THE REAL MCCOY’S HELMET BAG | US AIR FORCE

Helmet Bag? Since weeks this bag is my daily carrier – sure not for working: FILSON rules! –, but for all other activities. Sometimes I even take it as my sports bag – my soccer shoes and a towel fit into this bag and a 1 ltr. bottle of mineral water too. The bag is lightweight, made of nylon, has three interior pockets a shoulder strap so that I easily can take it with me on the bike. The zip is a heavy one and the lining soft. Just perfect – hope it will last forever! Take a look at the photos what I got with me when I was @ the doctors this morning. About the look we have do not have to speak: it’s simple, classic, without any useless shit, military inspired – perfect. Bought this bag last year @ volls.de. STETSON CORDELE FUR FELT HAT | SOLD BY STATEMENT – THE DENIM STORE

just saw a pic of the new munich denim store STATEMENT posted by founder & owner KAY KNIPSCHILD and i felt in love with this wonderful hat. two days later this great lookin’ STETSON was put to my hat collection @ the LIFE-TIME-GEAR office. the CORDELE is made from premium quality fur felt, fully lined in a gold-bronze STESON fabric and there is a leather sweat band on the inside. the nice grosgrain band around the hat crown carries a wonderful colored feather. the crown is about 10 cm high and the brim 6cm wide. i love the look of the hat so much because with the brim turned up this fedora is such a nice mix between a classic fedora and a western-look-a-like hat – just perfect.

the STATEMENT store is owned by “JOSH” aka CHRISTIAN HEISE and KAY. i think they did a great job, when i take a look at the pics of the new store opened just 3 weeks ago. their vision was to bring the DENIM & BOOTS SPIRIT to GLOCKENBACHVIERTEL in MUNICH, germany. the STATEMENT store is located just beside the RED WING STORE MUNICH – not the worst idea! beside a big range of raw denim JOSH & KAY present a selected range of WHITE’S BOOTS. the store is full of awesome unique stuff from american flea markets – check the pics below. RED WING SHOES #8853 & #8852 | THE BLACK TRACTION TRED SOLE IS BACK … IN JAPAN

do you remember the days when – i do not now the number of the boot – the #875 looking RWS with a black traction tred cushion crepe wedge sole were for sale @ RED WING SHOE STORE FRANKFURT? oh damn, this is really a long time ago. OLLI THE BARBER owns one of these – always nice to see. it is a great color combination the brown leather with this fat black sole. RED WING JAPAN does now a blue – so f***ing awesome – and a brown boot with this nice black sole: the #8853 & #8852. aren’t they nice? the blue leather of the #8853 is called “INDIGO PORTAGE” and the brown one “VELVA RETAIN” like used to the BROGUE RANGER #8128. i think these will not come to europe because the average european RED WING consumer mostly prefers the white traction tred sole or a boot from the IRON RANGER range. a MOC TOE with a black is too exotic. we will see. the #8128 is on the top of my sales list! pics | © THREEWOOD, japan

MASUNAGA | OPTICAL FRAMES MADE IN JAPAN SINCE 1905 @ KLAR

when i visited AKRAM founder and owner of KLAR in darmstadt, germany, last week he showed me these nice frames. AKRAM told me that he sells MASUNAGA since 2012 – hm, i did not know this … anyway, now i took notice of this wonderful classic frames which must be made with such a passion and precision – so nice to touch and put it on the nose. great. the look? perfect old school, timeless. MASUNAGA was founded in 1905 by GOZAEMON MASUNAGA in FUKUI, JAPAN where 97% of optical frames were once made. he wanted to produce glasses that are better than the rest of the country. he did: from this time on till today each piece of MASUNAGA eyewear is made by hand. the glasses are made with the finest materials including silver accents and polished japanese acetate.  MASUNAGA  glasses are well known for their details. i am still absolutely hooked by this wonderful simple, classic but modern look. check their website and the actual collections, the optical ones as well as the sunglasses and learn more infos about the brand. and for sure a MASUNAGA will be my next frame. pics | LTG
