RED WING SHOES #9197 6 INCH POSTMAN

Seems to be a RED WING SHOES week on Life Time Gear. It’s about missing time to do this post much earlier. Some weeks ago I took this beauty with me from volls.de to the LTG Central – an absolute Must-Have for me. I think for a lot of other so-called RWS fans not, because of its pure, so classic and unusual “not so contemporary fashion compatible” look. And I think to recognize that this Postman wasn’t bespoken so often when it was launched … whatever I love it, but the boot distresses me so much. It’s the same as it was with the “normal” low #101 POSTMAN when I wore it the first miles. The #9197 is modeled after that famous #101 style. But when you broke the boot it will be a companion for life … Life Team Gear! Indestructible with its Black Chaparral leather, the black cushion crepe and wedge outsole. And again: this is a RWS Model that will be just available for a limited time – good to know! THE LANZA JACKET by 1ST PAT-RN | INTERNATIONAL TRAD MEET ITALIAN WORKWEAR

Last week I got a big parcel from UWE E MAIER c/o AMTRAQ DISTRIBUTION. What a surprise, he send me the 1ST PAT-RN LANZA JACKET. What an indigo beauty! I was, no I am restless excited about this 1960s Italian work wear inspired jacket. The LANZA is made in Italy of a double indigo selvedge denim. The fit is classical perfect without any needles “Schnick Schnack”, but so nice details like the selvedge seams inside and the horn buttons. It features one button flap chest pocket, 2 lower inset pockets, adjustable cuffs, rounded collar with a detachable throat tab, rear cinch and selvedge detail on the inside placket. It was delivered unwashed –  so the photos I did show the Jacket unwashed. While i am writing this lines LANZA gets its first reversed side wash – cold and light. Because of its nice indigo dying it colors slightly even when I did the photos.The jaakcet is available @ VMC, LowDownondenim, Zenit, JeansLife and The Bureau Belfast, where I got the 2 pics which show the washed LANZA – THX! I am really impressed by this great 1ST PAT-RN stuff – love this stuff expecting some more pieces next time. Christian Berto does a great job.

“THE WHOLE FILM IN 5 SECONDS” | THE BEST FILMS EVER – WITHOUT ANY WORDS – JUST EXPLAINED IN SIMPLE GRAPHICS

Damn, I love this book. There isn’t a day since I bought it that I did not take a look inside. The idea is amazing and I had to laugh all the time. The graphics are so reduced to the maximum and so simple, sometimes childish but always 1,000 % to the point.  “This is the perfect book for film buffs and anyone with a sense of humour or a short attention span.” I Got the German issue, but in ther imprint i saw that there must be an English original issue from 2013 with the title “FILM IN FIVE SECONDS” published by Quercus Publishing Plc, London. The book is made by MATTEO CIVASCHI and GIANMARCO MILESI – well done guys! The pictures you’ll find below are just some of my absolutely most beloved films.  150 Movies in graphics … where to start? BUTTS AND SHOULDERS | THE ROUGH COLLECTION – NEW BAG COLLECTION LAUNCHED

Some day ago I got some news from my buddy WOUTERS co-founder of BUTTS AND SHOULDERS and the man behind the great LONG JOHN blog. They launched their new collection named “THE ROUGH COLLECTION”. this collection “are variations on our beloved virgins”, they say, “The same bold Butts and Shoulders style and the same attention it deserves. Clean and classic with a lot of style!”. So the collection features the 3 classic BAS bags: Travel Bag, Worker Bag – my favorite – and the Post Bag. All models are now availabe in four new treated leather variations: brown (cognac),  dark brown,  dark Green (army) and striped blue/black leather. On every bag the brnading is sprayed by hand. And for sure these great bags will getting even nicer by using them everyday. As all BAS stuff these bags are made in Holland, Europe, in stricly limited quantities. when i visited AKRAM founder and owner of KLAR in darmstadt, germany, last week he showed me these nice frames. AKRAM told me that he sells MASUNAGA since 2012 – hm, i did not know this … anyway, now i took notice of this wonderful classic frames which must be made with such a passion and precision – so nice to touch and put it on the nose. great. the look? perfect old school, timeless. MASUNAGA was founded in 1905 by GOZAEMON MASUNAGA in FUKUI, JAPAN where 97% of optical frames were once made. he wanted to produce glasses that are better than the rest of the country. he did: from this time on till today each piece of MASUNAGA eyewear is made by hand. the glasses are made with the finest materials including silver accents and polished japanese acetate.  MASUNAGA  glasses are well known for their details. i am still absolutely hooked by this wonderful simple, classic but modern look. check their website and the actual collections, the optical ones as well as the sunglasses and learn more infos about the brand. and for sure a MASUNAGA will be my next frame. pics | LTG

BOOT OF THE DAY | #191 | DANNER x BALL AND BUCK LIGHT BOOT

as a frequently reader of my blog you must know that i am a great fan of the classic DANNER LIGHT BOOT. i own one pair that i mostly wear for the activity this boot was rather made for: hiking. but sometimes i take my DANNERs to the city or somewhere else because of the great comfort and the heritage and iconic look. today i found this wonderful boot which is done in a collaboration between DANNER and great BALL AND BUCK. this means 1000% americana! this DANNER LIGHT uses a special leather that’s saturated with oils and wax. i love the 10oz camouflage flanks so much and the subtle blaze orange heel stitching. what a found … did you hear about this japan limited RWS 6 inch boot? sorry, me not. you like? i do not know – but i think, i like the hybrid between the classic RWS moc toe and a canoe or boat shoe. the boots are available in the wonderful GOLD RUSSET SEQUOIA and ORO RUSSET. they show the classic 50s IRISH SETTER label and come in the retro box from this time. pics | THREEWOOD + FOOT TIME

GRANIT (engl. GRANITE) | BAVARIAN GIN

sorry, i found another new german GIN : “GRANIT”, made in bavaria, germany. when i saw the bottle design it was a must to get this GIN to try and to put it to my GIN collection. because of getting better photos the bottle is still closed, so i can’t tell you something about the taste. i still have another german gin from SAARLAND, germany, i did not tried and posted too. when i did this, i will do a gin tasting with just all the different german gins i own. i think my editor PETER Z. will help me to judge and comment the gins. GRANIT is a BIO GIN made of 28 different botanicals. classic gin ingredients like citrus, coriander, cardamon are combined with typical bavarian herbages and plants like melissa, german “BÄRWURZ” and gentian – the description sounds really interesting. after aging some months in stoned barrels the gin is filtered through granite stones with different granulations. the gin has BIO quality! every bottle is delivered with a real granite stone which you can use as an ice cube when you put into the refrigerator. great idea, perfect look. the bottlle design and feel is really awesome! it looks so heritage and masculine, bavarian, craftsmanship. when i found GRANIT @ the PENNINGER site i found BLUTWURZ BLACK EDITION with its distinctive design. i don’t know if i will like this dangerous looking drink ever … but this bottle is a must-have too. i will report after the first try. pics | LTG
